Education & Credential Verification

Credential fraud is a multi-billion dollar problem. Fake degrees, inflated certifications, and unverifiable online course completions cost employers billions in bad hires every year. Meanwhile, legitimate graduates spend weeks waiting for transcript verification. The current system relies on centralized databases that don't talk to each other. A degree from a Spanish university can take 3 months to verify in the UK. A professional certification from one platform means nothing on another. And if the issuing institution shuts down, your credential might disappear entirely. Blockchain fixes the verification problem permanently. Issue once, verify anywhere, forever. But most implementations are just PDFs with a hash on-chain — that's not real verifiable credentials, that's theater. Real credential verification needs W3C Verifiable Credentials standards, selective disclosure, and interoperability across institutions and borders.
